“Whale of a game...first turn RIP to a decent gutter left me undermanned for the rest of the game, and his cas dice continued to be red hot for the rest of the first half, removing rats in easy fashion. After scoring the 1-1 equalizer with way too much time left on the board, we got lucky with a dropped undead pass in the bright sunlight, whereupon we picked up the ball and threw it way downfield...and promptly got creamed very next block. Now down to a single gutter non-hurt, and he was ko, stayed so to start the second half.
Second half was truly a battle of wills...the undead outnumbered us 2:1 to start the half, and a couple cas later had us down to 3 rats. But when one of them is your claw/rsc, he can single-handedly level the playing field a tad, which he did, removing 5 undead by himself, making things a tad more manageable 5-3 ratio. We even had a legitimate shot at scoring the go-ahead, but a fumbled pass of our own left a mad scramble for the ball by both teams. Stupidly, on two consecutive turns my rats made multiple 4+ rolls only to fail a 2+ or 3+ to secure the ball and score.
Eventually, the undead grabbed the ball and were racing, but fear of my claw/rsc/tackle vermin made the str4 ghoul stumble while running...must've been looking backwards instead of forwards. Regardless, a well-aimed boot by my dp stunned the ghoul for the final two turns of the match, securing the draw despite being radically outnumbered. How the fans could not have appreciated this game, I shall never know...
Well, time to replace yet another gutter in the lineup, and make some serious decisions about our OTS gutter...after aging a niggle, he's niggled out of 3/4 of his matches, including the last 4 in a row, and then the handicap had him arrested pre-match this one. Maybe 'twould be better to fire his ass, lower team rating, make more money, not give up a couple handicaps every game...”
