“A pair of skulls and a blitz ended his chances for an early touch down and I was able to sneak the ball in. Then the tables turned with a perfect defense which I managed to punch through with a bit of difficulty. The second half was populated with some more perfect defense and some gross rolls with the gutter runners.

The equalizing touchdown was a "fearless" combination of
GFI, GFI, (waiting in the TDZ), block away lizard from ball, ... , free the thrower with a blitz, grab the ball and pass it into the TDZ!!!
Sometimes you get Double Skulls and your reciving drive is ended before it starts and sometimes luck is on your side!
