“GAME ONE: The Strykers opened up against a wood elf team, Uilidor's Roots, thoroughly expecting to get blown out. Fielding ten Linemen, a thrower, six rerolls and only a 92 Team Strength, the Southvale Strykers are starting off highly experimental. Southvale kicked off and a lucky bounce put the ball at the very back of the pitch. Despite knocking out three Strykers and suffering no injuries themselves, the Roots were unable to drive the length of the field. With only one reroll that was used early the wood elf drive stalled and the half ended at 0-0. The Strykers received the ball in the second half and were able to put together a patient, 7 turn drive to take the lead 1-0 with only 2 turns left for the opponent! Two turns being plenty to score with wood elves, Southvale went into a prevent defense. The Roots still managed to get a receiver into the endzone and with the last seconds ticking off the clock, a long pass to tie the game was intercepted by Oran Breadbasket for a suprising opening victory by the Strykers!”
