“This was the Wilders first match ever to be played on an astrogranite field. The inexperience with the material led to problems with balance and the Wolfenburg players fell over quite often due to this. The Warthogs seemed to like the astrogranite surface and took advantage of the fact that it is harder than grass.
Voodoo didn't make many mistakes and when he did, I failed the easy rolls like the gfi's or 3+rr dodge... but Nuffle suddenly decided to smile upon me and I managed to be in the lead 2-1 when the whistle for half time blew.
Desperately trying to break through the Warthog defenses in the 2nd half lead to another stupid mistake by a Wolfenburg player giving the Warthogs an opportunity to equalize (coming after an interception I might add). They did and things looked bleak for the Wilders. Nuffle then smiled upon me once again and Addrynvan did a heroic breakaway to TD with only minutes left of match.
Without a good one-turn-TD player the Warthogs decided that they would fight the last minutes of the match but they only managed to stun a couple of Wolfenburg linemen.
This was a very entertaining match to play - both coaches trying their hardest to hinder the other from scoring without using underhand tactics. Thank you very much for the game, Voodoo, and good luck in the upcoming league!”
