“An off day for the Fangs with a disappointing result considering the gulf in ratings between the teams. Accusations have been made by the Fangs that Clan Eshin agents snuck into the team dugout and spiked the Saurus meal tray before the match. Xhotl missed the entire match after suspiciously passing into an unwakeable stupor and the rest of the Sauri were to follow later...
Things started well for the Fangs. After some early defensive work by the skaven, the fangs were able to sack the team thrower and steal the ball to score late in the half for a 1-0 half-time score.
However in the second half it all fell apart. After good early caging a change seemed to come over the Sauri and Kroxigor who dozed off or fell to the ground in a brief sleep! Unprotected by their larger brethern the team skinks were able to stop the ball being stolen by the sneaky skaven.
Conquati was psuhed into the skaven crowd who brutally broke the skinks leg. A change has come over the skink since, who has become bitter and spiteful since his injury.
Although team captain Tehen and Ichi tried to rescue the situation with tight marking it was to no avail with the ball eventually being passed over the line for a skaven equaliser. The only upside to the falling asleep was Tzunctl dozing off and crushing Corplake as he fell!
The Fangs almost stole the win in the last turn with some clever chain pushing but the pick-up was failed and the game ended 1-1.
Not going to complain about luck too much as the really decent coaches (i.e. better than me) take the possibility of failure into account. However the sauri blocking was quite horrendous in the second half (think I was on 24% luck at one point). Ouch, those other sauri really need block. Coupled with another 1 for winnings (both rolled a one which was a shame with the large gate) and MVP going to the niggled player this hurt (although on the plus side the niggler rolling a double means some nice fluff added to the team :).
Otherwise the game was good fun and Jurrassic-Monkey played very well and took his chances to score a good equaliser.
I almost had a chance to steal the win but failed the pick-up after the hard chain pushing part (one day I'll score a one turn touchdown).
Thanks for the game.
Good luck in the rest of the tournie”
