“Wow what a match for "Echoes". To say Questor Anu was a little worried about the draw for this season, in particular this first match would be an understatement. While Bekar is feeling just a little sorry for himself with a broken skull... WHAT A RESULT!!!! This was the typical matchup between these races. Talaban blitzes for a casualty and scores in the 2nd turn of the game after some elvish toying with the ball behind the the line of scrimmage. Smurf Murder proceed to gratefully accept their touchback and grind their way up the field. Karesh Var blitzing the ball free just a minor inconvenience, as the super Thro-Ra 'Smurfette' casually scooped it up again and eventually ambled over the line for a TD and the end of the first half. Smelling Salts failed their job again.. as Talaban continued to see stars. The second half began in much the same vein, the inevitable crunching drive, and certain TD fouled up by the stumbling of 'Wild Smurf' who was striving to give 'Smurfette' greater protection on the sidelines ready for the winning TD. Enter two debutants and one old hand. First Judon blitzed 'Smurfette' into the crowd, before Karesh Var wowed the crowd with a leaping, dodging run to the ball that had been kicked back to centre field by the "Echoes" crowd, before calmly picking up the ball and launching an effortless long pass to the other debutant Boru.. who followed up his earlier casualty with the game winning TD after some semi-risky stalling that had Questor Ro pulling his hair out and doubting the fitness of the decision making on the field. The final turns of the game saw the undead Smurfs, angry at their mistake launch a vicious assault, injuring two elves, Shalik's broken jaw saved only by the team apothecary, before Nat continued his "Devil's Work" and with the help of his buddies smashed a bony foot into the prone treeman Ra-Hel, spilling a great deal of sap and badly hurting the big fella.
One of these days Karix will explain to me how that foul will benefit his team in the long run.. I'll just put it down to frustration. All the best mate for the rest of the season.. feel free to lay the hurt on any teams I am due to play next :)

3 Votes to #12 "Nat"- Put simply this smurf was the most influential blue guy on the field. Scaring the bejesus out of the "Echoes" players whenever he hovered over a prone team mate. Could be he learnt a harsh lesson in showing a bit of heart in not laying the boot into Karesh Var on atleast two good occasions, since he was the only man who could have set up the play that resulted in the winning TD. Showed his ruthless streak by fouling Ra-Hel in the 16th turn. Opponents beware this one.
2 Votes to #8 "Smurfette"- A Khemri coaches dream player. A +AG Thro-Ra. Did all asked of her and more. This loss can not be layed at her feet. Feet which look a good chance of wearing the Silver Slipper this season. Gone take note.
1 Vote to #1 "Hefty"- The most dominant of the Smurf Mummy Battery. Injuring two including the dangerous catcher Touchstone. Didnt make the mistakes some of his brothers did.”
