“A truly bizarre game. I had misgivings about putting my ball handling chaos team against a good Khemri team with a great coach, misgivings which seem confirmed when my opponent won the coin toss and got the ref.
However, the game played completely against type. The Khemri were inept in their blocking and fouling, and won the game through superior ballhandling. The Khemri had a dirty player foul about six turns in a row during the half, and couldn't get more than a stun. A mummy almost killed Minotaur Bakerkenn (an insult that would be later avenged), but the Apothecary saved him. The Khemri managed to push enough Chaos players around to create an opening, and after a successful one die blitz by the ball carrier allowed an easy score.
In the second half, the Eaters of wisdom managed to punch a hole up the middle, using diversions on the flanks, to allow a fairly easy TD pass attempt, which was botched horribly. The ball went out of the endzone, back out the sidelines, and bounced to a mummy who caught in up near midfield. One handoff later and the Khemri had a commanding 2-0 lead.
However, the game was not yet over. There was no way the Eaters could even tie the score, but Minotaur Bakerkenn was still playing. In the last couple of turns he cost the Dancers two mummies--One was crippled (-MA on mummy is rough) and the other killed outright, both failing to regenerate. I could say I regret these casualties, but I would be lying...
My opponent was a great coach, a great sport and a pleasure to play. I could have tied it with a pass, but then again, I was incredibly lucky not to have my team bashed up in the first half. Until we meet again...”
