“A good mannered game that was ruled by my stinking foul luck for a change...
Game starts with Burgh missing the game due to a previous injury thanks to a foul in the last game, and 2 of the 3 High Elves with nigglers failing their last minute fitness tests. 9 men against my bench of 12, I could do well here I think...
Turn 4 I have 19% and Bloodgeyser is sitting on 81%, not that it matters. First turn sees Henrick rolling snake eyes trying to pick the ball up, good start. Every block I receive ends up with me cringing as hit after hit rolls a POW and the plucky Vanguard hits the deck. Henrik is saved by the apoc from an early death but Garthe wasn't to be graced with the same favour.
With the players snarled up around the LOS, the High Elves have the advantage in being able to dodge unlike the Vanguards who still struggle with their boot laces. This results in a clean getaway and stall on the square away from the endzone to tie up the remaining turns of the half. Even with the blitzer quartet from the hills throwing in their block/guards, all that comes from the first half for me is a completed pass or two and 2 armour breaks (stuns)
Second half and the High Elves receive the kick, a relatively unprotected ball carrier results in two blitzers hairing their way down the pitch for a double header blitz. Ball gets spilled and it's 2 against 1 as the rest of the pitch is tied up in tackle zones. 3+ pickup for a guaranteed equalizer and in comes double 1s yet again to pee on my parade.
The ball gets moved around a bit and heads towards the LOS. Several turns later it comes down to a few calculated 2BD blocks to try and get the TD in the last turn, the first two go off with skull/pushback and skull/pow|skull. Turn over, I lose...
Again another game that looked like a decent tie resulted in me getting really stinking results.”
“A fine report indeed, and SO true. My luck were almost endless... until after the game. My blitzer aged and gained +ag at the same time. A strange combo if I may say so. That was the 3rd nig on agingroll on my three last attempts. Will it be the same next time?”
