45% luck, ... didn't feel that unlucky!!! Had games were it all went way worse!

And now for the game itself.
By underhand tactics the Mountaindwellers got hols of some drugs, given to their star runner Dwim Fastfeet. His agility being boosted the dwarfs were even hoping to rely on a decent passing game if necessary. But the skeletons were in for a good oldstyle brawl. Which meant the dwarves tryed but didn't make much progress on their rightfield. The trollslayers were so convinced it would come to a passing game they didn't even try to become berserk! (failed almost all my dauntless rolls against the mummies!!! maybe that is why the luck meter's gone down). Fortunately one fo the mummies knocked himself over, clearing the path for Dwim, the runner, and a couple of his mates. Turn 6, 1-0.

Kicking deep and getting a blitz start, the dwaves pushed forward to pu the most pressure on the Khemri. It looked to go well,...too well. The vital assist before the strip-ball-Blitzer never arrived, tripping in an attempt to make it. Now everything was still possible, a short pass was all it would take to score. Fortunately for the Mountaindwellers, the pass went off target. Half time was right on time.

The Crackers started second half one player up, a Trollslayer being KO and a Longbeard being carried off end of the first half. But still the dwarves managed a firm defense. Progress was slow and the Khemries started to wonder if they would be able to get the TD they needed. The mummies were so puzzeled by the play they didn't put all their effort in blocking, rarely putting a dwarf-player down. The Skellis did the jod though. Still, it took a dramatic reverse of side to create a scoring opportunity. Dwim thought his agility would make him able to dodge away and attack the ballcarrier one on one... but he went down like an elf ! (on a 1). Suddenly there was the opportunity, and relieved the khermians started to maim the dwarf-team. Turn 6, 1-1.

2 Turns , an AG 4/sure hands/accurate runner...it was possible...But there was one tacklezone too many for the ball to be caught (which would have left a dodge as well =/)...so a fair 1-1 was on the scoreboard in the end.

Post scriptum;

1) Nice opponent, very enjoyable game (I always forget to say stuff like this!! rematch anytime Waratah!!)
2) Dwim Fastfeet skilled, and aged =/ ...a career ended too soon

Normally the keystones of the Crackers defence, today the Mummies were instead offering our opponents flowers and backrubs instead of extended hospital visits. Grief stricken as they were by the extensive damage done to those poor norsemen in the previous Crackers outing.

Nonetheless, with fine blocking from the rank and file the defence was holding until Bygtyme Nyggla thought he saw the image of his deity in a slayer's tattoos and humbly prostrated himself...allowing Dwim fastfeet to run for the line.

With little time to score and a very deep kick Crackers were reliant on not one but two throws to level the scores by the half. Having never actually made a completion this seemed a daunting task. Things seemed possible once Ballhog collected the deep kick cleanly and threw short to Daball Isbutterd as the blitz-ra's ran linewards. The mummies held off the ball-rush long enough for Isbutterd to find an opening but he fumbled the quick pass as the half time siren sounded.

Luckily a slayer and a longbeard had been encouraged into medical consultation leaving the Crackers with a slight numerical advantage as they begun their drive. The Mummies continued to caress and cuddle where they should have been stomping and smashing...creating few openings for the ball to move forward and allowing the dwarves to completely shut down the left side of the pitch ahead of the Cracker's scrum.

So play was switched and Gyrly Skyrt headed right protected by the suddenly very imposing screen of Ikill Yourbyg-Gai who, in quick succession, encouraged two dwarves to go see their GP. It was this bright young Skeleton's finest hour as Skyrt shuffled through the space so created to score.

Post game match officials had clearly been physically threatened by Mummy Ifrow Onlyskawls as they selected him Cracker's MVP (or perhaps they were charmed by the cuddles and flowers he gave them) ahead of Ikill in his finest form.

The Crackers would like to thank United for an excellent game, and say how happy they are to have not caused any extended hospitalisations or unscheduled funeral services.
