Well Jim, now we turn to the match between the New Orc Gits and the killer Scales, fresh out of the gate from Lustria.

The Gits received and almost immediately went to the throwing game again. When are these guys going to learn? Has someone been putting elfbread into the fungus barrel? Unsurprisingly, the Orcs' air-game fell short and gave the Scales a great chance early in the first half, but poor technique from their Kroxigor Grrrrrrr (not to be confused with the Lustrian League's Grrrrrrrr) put the Gits back in control. Weaselsqueezer redeemed himself with a pass to Kneecrusher and the drive was on. From a sideline half-cage, Kneecrusher was soon into the Scales' backfield but some spunky (or should that be spawny) gang-tackling from the Scales' secondary put him down. Ball loose, it was down to Gudmak Greasegrip to pick up the pill. Can you guess what happened? He spilled it but the Scales couldn't capitalise. Weaselsqueezer picked up the skin and tried to arc it out, but the pass went horribly wrong, bouncing off Greasegrip's head! Everyone tried to pick up the loose ball and by the time it had stopped bouncing it was dangerously close to the sideline.

Some agressive play from the Gits got the ball back into Weaselsqueezer's lumpy hands. The Scales backpedalled into defence but the score looked on until Weaselsqueezer failed to complete the shortest of passes to Gurlesh, leaving the ball loose yet again. The Scales muffed the pickup and Gurlesh Blitzed his way to the ball, scooped it up and went for the line... only to fall short and drop the ball into the endzone! And so the half ended.

The second half started with the Scales showing a run down the sideline. The Gits obliged by rushing into their backfield but the skinks proved too nimble (and slimy) to be caught. The Scales established their rushing lane with some smart blocking and had bender racing for the line. But the Gits weren't done yet: Kofflemm and Weaselsqueezer took bender down and the ball popped into Kofflemm's paws!

Now the Gits started to pile on the pain, sending two Scales players to the treatment tables and knocking one cold. The Scales tried to respond in kind but their blood must have been chilled by the Gits' display of violence. Kofflemm handed the ball to Slopeskull and heavy blocking soon took the snap out of the Scales's D and Slopeskull was over the line to score!

The Scales received but two players down it was an upstream swim all the way for them. They couldn't establish a pocket and it seemed a matter of time before the ball was turned over. Sure enough, after a struggle, Slopeskull sent Grrrrrrr into the stands and the ball was loose after a throw-in. The Gits tried to establish a pocket of their own and Weaselsqueezer went for the ball... and got it! However, he was caught by a tackle as he tried to make himself some space and the ball was loose again. All thoughts of scoring were abandoned and the game ended in the usual punchup, much to the fans' delight!
