Well Jim, that match we have for you now is a clash of opposites: the slick agility of Kraz's Skavies against the grinding thuggery of the New Orc Gits.

This match almost didn't take place: the Skavies brought their legendary Skaven trickery to the bargaining table. After the negotiations, re-negotiations, signings, re-signings, stalling and re-installing, when the final handshakes took place half the Gits fans couldn't remember whether the match was on or not!

Once underway, the Skavies received with the ball deep in their half. Hans Anderson dropped back for the ball, but the ball slipped out of his grasp, giving the Gits an early break. The Gits started a strong rush, shutting down the Skavies' line as the ratmen fell back to form a pocket. The cheese-chompers lost their Rat Ogre Pakrat to a highly dubious "stumble" by Gits Lineman Gudmak Greasegrip and two rats down things looked bleak for the Skavies' drive. As the pressure piled on, Gits Blitzer Gurlesh went for the ball but a tackle from Anderson got the ball bouncing away from the prone Orc. The Skavies started a rally with Runner Aggy Drainedge breaking free in an astonishing display of agility and Anderson launching a long ball downfield. But the pass was no good and left the ball bobbling along the touchline. Gits Thrower Hurdag Weaselsqueezer went for the ball, but as in so many matches before he fluffed it and the ball was loose again! Drainedge needed no second invitation and scooped up the ball from Weaselsqueezer's feet, shimmied past him and went over the line for the score!

The Gits setup to receive but the cunning Skavies beat them to the snap. However, the opportunity was wasted with some reckless rushing by Anderson and the Gits started their drive. Both teams exchanged reckless blocks and sloppy moves and the half ended with the Gits more interested in maiming ratmen than moving the ball!

The Gits got the second half underway with a series of punishing blocks but the Skavies responded with a one-rat rush from Runner Batarat. He was up in Weaselsqueezer's face in a flash and tackled him, setting the ball free deep in Gits' territory! It was a simple pick-up-and-go for the young Runner and the Skavies were two up!

But the ratmen were down to just seven players. Could the Gits use the remaining time to score three times? After the restart it was no surprise when the Skavies' line went down quicker than a Snotling down a Troll's throat. The field was open as Weaselsqueezer went for the ball... and got it! There just weren't enough Skavies to mount a full-blooded defence and Weaselsqueezer handed the ball off to Grog Nakkrack who headed for the endzone. One by one the ratmen were sent to the bench as the Gits ground on. Nakkrak saw the line before him and went for it, but stumbled and dropped the skin in the endzone! This must have ended any hope for a Gits win, but Gurlash at least managed to pick up for the score.

Now down to just five on the pitch the Skavies setup to receive. Batarat picked up the pill and headed for the sideline and what was left of the Skavies' pocket. As the Gits' rush came on it was a matter of time before Batarat went down and he was duly sent to the deck by Gits' Blitzer Kurbag Kneecrusher. The ball was loose and Kneecrusher went for it... and missed! Batarat gamely picked up and tried to go, but Kneecrusher's tackle had him down again and the whistle blew for time.
