#5 Whisper Shadowstorm – Dead (RIP) #12 Frontier Stormbolt – Dead (RIP)
“The WyvernTail Stingers make their debut in the SWL Conferance thanks to the expanded format of the League and not to their match record. The Elves won today based on their ability to capitalize on the Citadel Ancient mistakes. Of which there were a few.
Ferryn Wyvernsting led the Stingers out to the field in typical Elven arrogance and his boys did him proud. The first half was dominated by both strong Stinger blocking and typical elvish dodging to avoid getting the retaliatory hit. A miss throw by the Ancients star quarterback Snagglespleen to Kill Joy allowed the Stingers to collect he ball and run in the first TD. In the second Citadel drive a failed go-for-it by Snagglespleen (guess we all expected a lot more from this AG 4 Zombie) allowed SkyRaven (again) to retrieve the ball for the 2nd Stinger TD. Half time saw the Elves up by 2-0.
A blitz by the Ancients at the start the second half was let down by another failed go-for-it. Once again Jaden SkyRaven swooped in on the mistake and scored the third Stinger TD. And then things went pear shaped!
THE DREADED 4th TURN!!!
There comes a time in the history of Elven teams when their body armour begins to resemble something akin to wet brown paper. And this is exactly what occured during the 4th turn of the second half for the Stingers. To begin, Slasher Puppie (Citadels werewolf reciever) slashed open Whisper Shadowtorm on the LOS and made some nice origami of his internal organs on the field. Spillguts the Zombie, not to be outdone, then thumped Forestguard into the dugout making sure he would not return this game. Boneheart the Wight Blitzer then crunched Stormbolt (the Stingers 2nd Quarterback) into mush and there wasn't enough of Stormbolt left for the Apothacary to repair. What a waste of space that Apoth is! Boneheart then took care of the remaining Elf Thrower next turn, and with few Elves remaining on the pitch (let alone prone) Kill Junior ran in the only Citadel TD for the match.
The game ended with the Stingers huddled in the middle of the field surrounded by Undead, gringely clutching the ball and begging not be hit too hard. Kind of embarresing really! But coach Shatterstar will look with pride at Whisper Shadowstorm who has taken up a new role as Lineman for the Citadel Ancients ... we wish you well Whisper.

3 - Slasher Puppie, had to do all the leg work once the Star Werewolf 'Little Bit of Rage' tripped while dodging and badly hurt himself. Took the scalp ... and internal organs, of Whisper Shadowstorm and added him to the Citadel Ancients roster. Good job!
2 - Yet More Blood, this Flesh Golem often tied up 3 or more Elves at once. And his Guard ability often turned a Stinger 2 dice block into a 1 dice gamble.
1 - Snagglespleen, honestly an Ag 4 Zombie. Now that's gotta be rare. And this game he out threw all the Elves. Sheesh how embarresing.
Great game Theopacman, I had a lot of fun. Had turn 4 happened in the first half, things would have been very different. For sure. ”
