“A ridiculous run of luck in the first half handed me this match. A first turn kickoff Blitz with skinks in range of the ball translated to a TD. Then, despite the next kickoff Pitch Invasion leveling 7 lizardmen, an unfortunate failed dodge by the elves allowed the lizzies to regroup and snag the ball again, quickly followed by TD 2. Then, get this, a couple turns later the elves are moving the ball and attempt a pass deep into lizzie territory, only to have it intercepted by a SAURUS. At this point I think my luck was running at 94%, and soon it was 3-0 lizards.

The second half was a different story, with the Dark Elves regrouping at halftime. Lizzies received, and worked the ball to midfield. There they tried a pass, which was promptly dropped just outside the end zone. The elves recovered, and despite an exchange of turnovers, dodged downfield for the only TD of the second half. The game ended three turns later as the lizzies, now outnumbered by injuries 11-8, tried hard to play keep-away and not turn the ball over.

The game was very entertaining, and a bit bloody. Dark Elves suffered one fatality, while the lizzies acquired two niggling injuries and were out-casualtied 4-2. Justbob is a great sport and a crafty opponent; only some silly luck in the first half tipped the game my way. Lots of fun!”
