A very well played, enjoyable match...

The Mutants held a strong grip on the ball, fouling one of the elven catches earlier, and killing him, but the despicable apothecary came to save the day!...unfortunately the chaos were unable to captialize on the lack of healing services for the entire match, only inflicting two BH's for the rest of the match...

The first half went flawlessly for the chaos team, capitalizing on a few unlucky mistakes by the elves, and quickly recovering after the *same* catcher knocked over the ball carrier in the elven territory....the chaos team scrambled quickly, and secured the ball, only to have the elven wizard get a little fiesty and level the opposition, letting the elves slip through to grab the ball and dodge out for an easy first half touchdown...

The second half went just as interestingly, with the mutants pulling a kickoff blitz, and scrambling behing the los to almost pull off a beautiful onside kick, after which, the elves faulted briefly, allowing a lone Reanimator the chance to tiptoe through to score the tying touchdown....

Things went downhill quickly after that...the chaos team quickly ran out of gas, as the elves endurance proved to be the difference in the game, beating down the helpless chaos team, and walking unchallenged to a late second half touchdown to win the game...

Again, a fabulous match, against a very fun coach, and I wish Canales all the luck in the rest of the tourney :)

But keep in mind one thing....

The Mutants shall have their revenge!!!

The Mutants got Virus (I had no nigglers) and Greatest.

They won the coin toss and started knocking out elves. Thanks to a deep kick, the Chaos team could not form a proper cage, and after an effective fireball, the few elves remaining on the pitch managed to end the half up 1-0. That was definitely lucky, since I rolled several snake eyes and the apo was spent on turn 2 or 3.

In the second half, the Mutants got blitz. Thanks to a couple of additional double skulls (and terrible moves by me), they got an easy score. With about 6 turns remaining, the Elf magic started to appear. The MBs in the team started to work and, despite playing poorly, the elves eventually outnumbered the Beastmen and scored the winning TD in the last turn.

Amazingly, we didn't suffer as many casualties as expected during the game. However, Nuffle did not overlook that fact and niggled the two players with skill rolls (the 31 spp DP and a 51 spp catcher).

If it wasn't for the Warpstone Open, they would be fired immediately. Alas, that will have to wait.
