#1 Kamog – Serious Concussion (-AV)
#6 Vrasch – Dead (RIP)
Warpstone Open Qualifier

The Cowboys had a faster, stronger, more agile team with more guard and mighty blow/claw than Da Rippas going into the match. We knew it was going to be hard.

The legendary Morg'n'Thorg showed up for Da Rippas and set up at the LOS to lead the defense in the 1st half. Cowboys' Chaos Warrior Tsar Bogdan was unimpressed however, and immediately ripped Morg's AV10 open like he was a halfling rookie. With Morg KO on turn one, the rest of Da Rippas understood it would be a tough half. This showed in the performance of the team, as each and every orc went above and beyond the call of duty to suck up punches from evil-looking beasts and warriors.

Da Rippas put pressure on the Cowboys' box until the ballcarrier himself was forced to block. Skull - down he went and with him every chance of scoring for the Cowboys. Da Rippas kept the score 0-0 at half-time, and celebrated the triumph with gang-fouling AG5 Beastman Maxim out in the last turn. 1st half looked very good for Da Rippas.

The blizzard that had started at kick-off prevailed in the 2nd half. Da Rippas screened the LOS and got the ball to Morg, who had woken up from his 1st half debacle. So far so good, though coach MadTias, and started to move upfield.

BOOM! A chaos sorcerer, especially brought to the game to get Morg down, fireballed the hapless ogre and the surrounding screening orcs. The ball popped out into the crowd of Cowboys players at the LOS! They used the confusion created by the wizard to pound the still standing orcs into the ground and secure the ball. After that it was a hopeless struggle for Da Rippas to recover the ball. The Cowboys' punching power removed orc after orc from the field and the winning TD seemed certain...

But! One of the Chaos Warriors makes a terrible mistake! His helmet, although very comfortable I'm sure, must have been blocking his vision. How else do you miss a 7-foot Black Orc, bellowing in fury and standing right in your path? Down the warrior goes, leaving Da Rippas a clear run to blitz the ball carrier!

Here is the crucial moment of the game. Coach MadTias can choose to blitz at 1die (agaist a blockless carrier) to allow his thrower to recover the ball afterwards, or use the thrower to assist a 2dice blitz. MadTias orders Blitzer Gulok to take the ball carrier down himself, feeling that he has one chance, and one chance only, to prevent the TD, and that is to use the thrower to throw the ball away into the Cowboys backfield. Otherwise the Cowboys can too easily recover the ball and score anyway. Push - reroll - push. The Cowboys win.

Good luck in the rest of the tourney razta. I would do the 1d blitz again in the same position. :)
