The Bunnies started in offence but found themselves on the receiving end of a Terror blitz! The Terrors pushed deep downfield and dwarfed up on all the Bunnies near the line of scrimmage.
The Bunnies made a desperate long bomb play and caught the ball in a tacklezone then dodged into the Hellbringer backfield!
The Terrors rushed back in defence and after tackling a couple of Amazons trying to dodge, recovered the ball and pushed it deep downfield themselves.
The Terrors were too confident in scoring and didn't protect their ball carrier as they went about smashing Bunny players downfield, this allowed two Bunnies to slip back in defence and run down the Terror Hobbo and knock the ball free! (I rolled a 1 on a GFI to set up one more juicy two dice block hehehe).
The Terrors managed to get superior numbers around the ball, but at the cost of their nominated Hobgoblin scorer who was pushed out of bounds. The Terrors picked up the ball and scored an easy TD to take a 1-0 lead shortly before half time.
The Terrors started in offence in the second half as the Bunnies fielded their worst 11 since they had already used their apothecary early in the match and were fearful of taking another serious injury.
The Terrors pushed forward and as fate would have it seriously injured another Bunny player. The Bunnies were demoralised and ran away allowing the Terrors to score an easy TD.
With the game won, the Terrors decided to have some fun in the remainder of the game by setting up a bizarre defensive set. However, the fans were not happy about this and a riot pretty much ended the game there and then.
------------
Amazon vs CD games are rarely fair, but I thought my opponent had a reasonable chance given he had two +1 AG players and a fair bit of Guard himself.
However, the Blitz to start the game put him on the backfoot and he spent the entire half in a battle all up the pitch trying to win the ball to score, or stop me scoring instead of benefitting from starting in offence and choosing where he would try to punch through.
My opponent also failed quite a few 3+ dodges with rerolls but rarely failed a GFI, pass or catch and rolled nowhere near as many double skulls as I hence his much higher luck rating, but it was the crucial rolls that went in my favour most of the time and hence the 2-0 scoreline despite the luck readings.
Still a fun game against a fun coach (but not so fun for him due to the one sided shellacking).”
