“The Chickens' coach Mr. Fell described the match as "A surprise" when asked for a comment by The Bloody Times' reporter following the 1-1 draw with Nightjester's Pitbulls.
This was the first outing for either team in the newly formed league and it certainly showed with both coaches making some rookie mistakes. Mr. Fell had the following to say when pressed for his views.
"I sorta suspected the Elves would be hard to contain as they were much faster and agile than my Norsemen. My only hope was that my boys could bog them down in numbers and kick them till bits fell off. Twice we succeeded but those damn Elves can skip better than women and twice they bolted from the cage."
When asked for his highlights of the match he merely handed me the casualty report from the match indicating 4 badly hurt pitbulls from the last 2 rounds of the match.
At this point the Chickens stand top of the league and Mr. Fell should be confident as he moves into the next round. Rumours are that he has already invested in a 12th player to bolster his team.”
“I thought the slow witted Norsemen would be no match for my quick footed eleves.
But I was proven wrong the Norsemen quickly used there extra Block ability to good effect and by the end of the match had mauled my players.
But a close match with the elves dancing around the slow humans, but a stupid mistake by the catcher who was frightened to throw a blitz at the end of the match cost our team the game.
But an enjoyable game which I look forward to repeating in the future, just please less stomping next time.
Thanks
Andrew”
