“As my opponent the luck was not with me, although the overall luck is 60%. But when elves have luck of 67%, that means that not many dodges or other dice rolls are 1's.
As my ball handler niggled (Big Hand, Sure Hands) I knew that the game might get hard for me. And it did.
My plan was to take some elves out in the first half, being maybe 1-0 behind or having 1-1 tie. And it almost worked. I was 1 turn away from td, but my opponent knocked the ball loose with 1db. And with AG5 player it's easy to pick it up and take the ball far away from my players.
And the final blow was the pitch invasion, which left me with only 2 players standing. Hard to stop elves then :)
Too bad the game was over too soon, and after that pitch invasion it really didn't offer any challenge to either coach. But there are many OCCS tourneys left, I might have a revenge someday ;)
Thanks for the opponent for the game, despite the lame ball game, it was fun.”
“The two teams lined up... Kyyberi having to buy one new beastman and hire a freebooter to get 12 players.
The weather started off in a blizzard, so the elves let the Rotters receive... however the weather changed to normal weather.
Fortunately for me I would say that despite 2 SI mng casualties inflicted by Scumwart, he was fairly ineffective, making some poor blitzes and blocks, with pushbacks and skulls. The dice were not kind to Kyyberi... and even when the block dice worked, the elven armour held strong... only 4 casualties from 41 blocks... says it all...
However, the elves played to their strengths... and by the 2nd half they were 2-0 up, and receiving. Kyyberi was hoping for a Blitz! but instead got a pitch invasion stunning all but the Beast and Scumwart. The elves wasted no time in blitzing the clawed goat, but had to foul in twice to get him out of the game... and once KO'd he didn't reappear despite the elves stalling and eventually going 3-0 up.
Wasn't much of a contest by then, but the elves don't take numbers into the final, so it may be difficult against almost a full team of vampires and thralls!
Thanks for the game Kyyberi. You didn't do anything wrong really... The luck favoured me for a change and I was able to capitalise on it. See you in another OCCS tournament!”
