#11 Viper Snakecharm – Broken Ribs (MNG)
Slitheryn hadn't played in a while, prefering to soak in their mudpits and dwell on their past poor performances. At a challenge from the Ironpots they lumbered from their swamps, cleaned off the muck and got down to some serious football.
After an unsure start, in which the lizards lacked direction, the Headcoach fetched some coffee and Slitheryn came to form. The defence got tighter and we even saw some ball tossing between the skinks.
sadly it seems the lifespan of a skink resembles that of most species of dung beetle, with 2 skinks ageing after the game and now carrying burdensome niggles.
Spitfire Redback (new skink) now joins the team as a potential ballcarrier and future mounted trophy.

#6 Sed – Smashed Knee (NI)
Duped by the advertising material, coach ArtaXerxes agreed to the "recovery" game against the "Garage Geckos" only to find they change colour and shape to resemble the much harsher Heir of Slitheryn Lizards. But once the paper work was signed, coach Arta was committed and laughed off the concern when pressed by the pre-game press. Of course, his nervous grin soon disappeared as the fantasy of a recovery game quickly disappeared after the teams took the field.

Catcher Snoun lead the way for the Ironpots, trying to make up the huge hole left in the ball advancing potential of the team while gutter-runner Eoso remained in recovery. Worryn also produced an admirable effort, but his lack of speed was shown up big time. Perhaps the tubby fellow should brag less about his developing bench press ability and work on improving his movement around the field. Oqueu also was a notable contributor, often dodging where elves would fear to tread (lightly) and assisting his mates who were taking a pounding.

The Slitheryn coach Shatterstar showed some new impressive defensive setups... perhaps he is getting outside help???
