“It was looking good for the loinclothed Orcy horde: 1-0 up in the last turn of the first half and having pinned down the opposition's cage deep in the far backfield, but here's a tip: don't push Black orcs around. In the space of 3 compensatory end of half blocks, Unbelieables' beasts picked themselves up off the floor and hammered out two KOs and broke Rumbag Tugu's neck!
Well then, with 7 players left, the second half became a desperate string of last-ditch attempts to slow the opposition down. A more experienced coach would no doubt tell me that it would have been sounder tactics to allow the Unbelieables a quick score and then hope to get some of my KOs back for the next drive, then play for the 2-1 score. Well mister, that's not how the Zulu play!
Needless to say, it came down to the penultimate turn, with Zulu's 5 men (three on the wrong side of the pitch) facing an enormous Black Orc cage that was six squares away from their endzone. It looked lost. A 1-1 draw was probably fair in the end. But both coaches had reckoned without Ug Bubu! Sprinting from the far side, Ug arced into the cage, smashed the ball carrier and seized the ball from under the noses of the 3 Black Orcs surrounding him, then hugged the ball and prayed.
Bubu then fended off all three BOrcs; ducking and dodging, he emerged from the back of the cage; still clutching the ball, and sprinted clear, with two Black Orcs still in hot prusuit. A legendary sack and catch, with more GFIs, pushbacks and dodge rolls than you can shake a stick at.
It ended 1-0 to the Zulu. Their first win and god knows how.”
