“Another elf game for my orcs, this time vs 9 very skilled darkies + Horkon with the blade.
My handicap was palmed coin and I choosed to kick. The elves were hard to catch and delayed the TD as long as possible, and I kinda got the ball back after some bad luck from the elves. But his freak witch (ag5 st4 and leap) made a nice blitz on my ball carrier, send him into the crowd and could score 1-0 with 3 turns to go in the first half.
So far, I had only sent one elf out (with a nice foul), but I still liked my chance in the game. I could actually score in two turns after a hand off to a free Geordie Brynn Reed and I had 1-1 after first half as planned.
In second half my tactic was simple. Bash, foul and bash some more to reduce the number of defenders, advance slowly and watch out for the freak witch. The tactic was quite succesful and I send several players out as the cage slowly walked towards the end zone. In turn 6m the freak witch managed to knock over the ball carrier with a -2db, but she was knocked over on a failed dodge or gfi afterwards.
I was probably pretty safe here, but I didn't want to take any chances so I gangfouled his star, and she unfortunately was niggled when the big boot crushed a bone or two in her leg. The elves got a final -2db shot at the ball carrier, but this time if failed and the orcs could walk in the second td in the last turn.
Now a chaos team is waiting in the qual final, but that's nothing we fear.
