The Heroes of Everquest entered the arena, shocked at the great amount of foul daemons in the crowd, its obvious that the Heroes are not the favourite team at this arena.

The Lords of Hell entered the field, through some wierd magic caused by the opposing coach, and the heroes start to wonder, not if, but how many of them will die today...

The Hellspawn start on the defense, but Rallos Zek see's a flaw and tells the other of his plan... The Heroes get the ball and go directly for the up-left corner of the field, protecting bristlebane at all cost.
The Lords charge after trying to stop him, it seems to be going flawlessly when suddenly Bristlebane trips, (he's gonna get such a beat from Rallos later he thinks) and the Lords catch up...

It looks all over, but thanks to the pure determination of Rallos, he dodges and leaps around the Lords like they werent there, just to pick up the ball and hand it to Bristle, the Heroes get the first goal.

The Heroes field their best defense, but it was no match for the Lords, obviously spending eternity in hell taught them a thing or two.
The Lords broke through and walked right into the end zone, the match was now tied.

For the second half, the heroes realize that the Lords are outpowering them in straight up melee, and they will try a new approach, but even this had no effect on the awesome might of the Hellspawn, they brushed the heroes aside as if they were not there, going for the easy touchdown to win the match.

On the upside, the 20 extra hours a week of training was put to good use, and the new shoulder pads they purchased, as none of the heroes took any serious harm.

a Loss for the heroes, a habit they soon hope to break

We are in the realm of Arkentide, where 28000 mortals have come to see the heroes of Everquest take on the Lords of Hell in one epic, high-level battle. The heroes are standing in the center of the arena, awaiting their foes. They are swift, they are agile, they know no fear. They await victory or death.

The roaring crowd falls into a hushed silence when the mad archmage Mezir strides onto the pitch. His black robes are blod-stained, and in his hand he holds a horned staff. The wizard steps to the very middle of the arena and commences to draw a circle, on the edges of which he draws five regular dots. He then connects the dots, to form a pentagram. Into the silence he then chants in a tongue so vile and black that the air around him darkens. The ground beneath him shines with an eerie red light. Smoke rises from the grass. The entire pitch is covered in shadow...

The shadow lifts. Opposite Everquest's heroes now stand creatures and demons of vile stature... All the devils and demons have arisen to do battle... We can but hope the mad mage will send them back once the battle is fought.

The heroes charge the demons, and run freely among them. The Lords of Hell struggle to keep up with their swift tempo, and, miracle of miracles, succeed in making one of them trip! Instantly the devils swarm the prone form and wrest his soul from it. From that point on, the battle to win back that brave man's soul commences.

There is scrapping, melee in the arena. Demon, devils and heroes all fall to the ground, to get up and fight once more! But the speed and agility of the heroes shines through, and they steal back the soul, and are victorius in this first round.

The demons regroup, then storm the heroes and smash them back and away. Ruthlessly they press onwards and make thier way to the opposite end of the arena. They reach the Heroes' altar and defile it with great glee, led by Demogorgon, their great prince, but it is Mammon who leaves his filthy mark there.

The Lords of Hell retreat, then make another charge, secure in the knowledge that they are the stronger. Demogorgon shows his contempt for the heroes by staying behind and occupying himself with one of them, repeatedly beating him, and commiting horrific deeds.

Mammon once more takes control of the vile filth they wish to set upon the Heroes altar, but he is set under a continuous assault. After beating off several attacks, he gives Orcus control of the mission, and the Demon Prince of the Undead does it with a vigour. He storms through the arena beating down heroes left and right. Every time he is beset he laughs at his foe and casts him down! In the end, none can stop him, and once again the Lords of Hell set foot upon the sacred ground of the Heroes and defile it, to be unclean forever!

The Lords regret but one thing... No souls have been ripped from their shells this day.
