“Almost stumbled again. We have a habit of doing this in the easy games. All they hype, all the attention, all the bets and all the media come to nought when Nuffle decides to have a belly laugh.

Belly wibble: Our niggler, niggles and so we are down 1 tackler before the game begins.

Belly wobble: Bam! First turn. The skinks seems to have stolen the Adept's mighty hammer and delivered the same thundering blows just as the ref's whistle signals a start (and an end for some) to the game. KO, Stun, SI (mng) and Arrows (relief!).

Belly gyration: Bam! Second turn. One of our Hall of Famer's, and also one of our originals, Antarctic Gale bites the dust and lies niggled. Finally one hit too many and even the apothecary couldn't save him this time. One less skink tackler on the field.

All of a sudden the game was on! Thankfully however, the great belly laugh finally subsided after Storm Warden failed his sprint (gfi) to the line in turn 8 for a try. Must have all been too much for Nuffle!

The rest of the game was a fairly tense and close affair with the skinks proving to be incredibly resilient this time around. It took the skills of the captain, Twilight Veil to get past them in the end and get the Vanguard home this time.

Can't be exactly sure, the concussion from the first two turns leaves us a foggy memory of the start we had to the game! But we're pretty sure it was this guy that drew the curtains on Antarctic Gale's illustrious career. Taking out the second tackler really gave the skinks a chance.

The lizard that snuck the Adept's Hammer onto the field! Gave them the adrenalin they needed at the start with a big hit.

The skinks didn't do much this game, it was all in the big guys and their hitting. Ghsrss laid on the ko's and badly hurt one of the lads in about turn 4. ”
