“I issued the challenge to Don T as I was looking for a team for my HE's to play so they could get a man back and perhaps be better prepared to enter a tournament.
However I did not expect to to break the human armour so regularly with the few blocks I threw early in the game. 2 humans resolved to sit the game out in the KO box pretty much as well. I watched in disbelief at Don T's frequently bad rolls, and in comparison my good luck.
The handicap for me was the Greatest, landing on my Blitzers, which was a good one to favour Don T, but the rest of the game really was just something to move on and forget about.
Thanks for the game mate, and as you said, I'm sure we will have a rematch to even up things here today!”
“"Have you noticed how Stein has really developed his throwingskills?" Ragnar asked.
"He didn't prove it this game, though, did he?" Johann replied, puffing on that big waterpipe that had become his new best friend.
"But I'm sure he throws better than he has ever done," Ragnar said.
"It doesn't matter. Don't you see that the guy is a cripple?" Johann uttered.
"Well, he has developed a small limp, wich is understandable in this game."
"Yes, but that is not from any game... he is getting old."
"He is 19," Ragnar said, chocked to hear about age since he himself was pushing 50.
"Yes, as I said... old."
The smoke from the waterpipe filled the room, and Ragnar despised it as much as Johann loved it.
"So..." Ragnar said.
"I've sold him." Johann stated bluntly.
"Oh, to another team?"
"No, to some Arabian merchants."
"Slavers?" Ragnar inquired.
"Slavers is such a harsh term. He'll be working in a goldmine." Johann said.
"He'll be dead before he is 21," Ragnar stated.
"Bah! Humbug! It is a goldmine." Johann said. "How bad can it be? Dig some gold, eat some good food, sleep in those luxurious houses we've heard the arabians have. I'm sure he'll be just fine and probably even have the weekends off. The arabians are nice people. Anyway, I've even spoken to Stein about it, and he didn't object."
"That's because he is deaf and dumb." Ragnar blurted.
"And anyway, we can't afford to feed crippled players."
Ragnar gave that last comment a thought, and in the end he realised that it was true. This was a business, not some do-good company.”
