“One of the most interesting games of Blood Bowl I've ever played, and proof that a game doesn't have to involve a lot of scoring to have strategy to it. The first half involved him having a slow advance up the side which resulted in one of the most compex, tangled up clusterf***s I've ever seen. After many turns of maneuvering and some luck, I managed to hit his ball carrier, who fell down--The ball was thrown back in right near my goal line. We both desperately raced for it. I got it first due to some great rolls--A one die blitz to clear the way, a pickup and 2 gfis to get near my own players. I had a chance to score at the other end as time expired with a cherry picking blitzer, but it was not to be. In the second half, I got the ref, which was the piece of luck that really won the game for me. Another tangled mess ensued, but I manged to knock out enough players to hold the edge. The game wasn't decided until a last turn gfi (without a reroll) gave me the contest's only score.
Props to my opponent, who battled well despite the inferior dice, generally played better than most people I've come across, and took my repeated 2nd half fouling like man!”
