“I got battered absolutely senseless by the Ogres - 3 BH and a couple of KO's but that could have been worse. Near unfailing blocks and only the occasional bonehead, plus a couple of free kickoff rerolls were offset by a blitz for me and... uh, lots of touchbacks for the Ogres.
On top of that, the score from the Ogres came from a 4+ 5+ Ogre dodge and 2 GFI with no rerolls.
So, don't think the luck score is *too* accurate - I played things by the numbers - choosing easy blocks, reasonable dodges (3+ with dodge twice and one without, all worked) and three GFI to score, otherwise my rr were in perilously short supply from early on in the half, and only the ball turning into a bar of soap for the Goblins made it possible for me to surround it, block free, pick the ball up and run it home five times.
Great cash for both sides, nice SPP as well, no one injured - I could only Ko 1 Goblin at a time, twice in the game - seems my guys block with cushions on their hands - and my turn 16 foul was an answer for an earlier foul, and attempt to foul which boneheaded.
All in all a good result for both - yeah both - Ogres are slow to start and 10 spp for one guy in a game is great.
My guys viewed this as 'do or die' and so move on to play a few more nono tourney games, hoping for similar results to set them up.
Cheers for the game!
