“United entered this game in high spirits after their amazing win against the odds last week. Though missing the services of Edward Birk, they had almost a full squad and with the Sinners missing 2 key players, including their Witch, Mr. Swan and the boys were quietly confident.
Even they though, could not have forseen what was to come...
Losing the toss, our boys found themselves kicking to their Elven opponents, but soon had their hands on the ball as 'Skullface'Gibson nimbly pounced upon a failed throw. With teamwork and determination, fast becoming hallmarks of the United game, he was then able to run with it to the Endzone. First blood United!
A short kick was quickly collected by Sirith Underhanded, who was just as quickly collected in turn by rookie Thrower Dave 'Rythm' Vigil, playing his first game and doing himself proud. 'Skullface' was again able to snatch his prize and, with a quick pass to Chucky Nigglefish, United scored for a second time.
Kicking off for the third time in the first half, the boys from Carlton were able to make the most of some confusion amidst the Sinners' front line to dash past, the ball finding it's way back to the hands of their star Catcher. Out on a limb, he was quickly pounced upon by Xavius Poisonblade who, rallying his team to his side, was able to hold the Humans back until the half time whistle blew.
The second half underway, United would now get their first chance to recieve the kick. Wasting no time, they sprinted down an open wing, Bazman leading the assault. Darek Bloodrunner as right onto him though and, tackling him to the ground, was able to free up the ball for his teammate Veritus. A mistimed change of play to the other wing was intercepted by Mr. Swan who, unmanned, ran the ball home.
United were kicking again and in what appeared an unassaultable position. Things would only get better for the boys in maroon and gold as Duke Snakefield and Davros Hugz were left to pounce upon an indecisive Sirith, claiming the ball yet again. A spirited defence from the Sinners held them back for a while, but as more team mates joined the fray, Duke was able to nudge the ball over. 4-0 to United.
Darkfall were obviously quite demoralised as they once again miscued a throw, leaving the ball deep in their own half. The crowd had not stopped cheering since halftime and the Carlton flags were waving proudly as the usual suspects once again advanced upon the ball. The captain, Snakefield was again able to tuck the ball and Blitz his way to the paint, scoring his second.
Darkfall made their first concerted attack in the dying minutes but were beaten by the ref's whistle, inches from the United Endzone. A heartbreaking end for the Elves, but cause for celebration in the United camp. After their pounding in the first round, Carlton are looking strong, this win moving them to second place on the ladder.

It takes great character to continue with good humour in games like these. Well done pharaoh, top game! ;)”
