“Note, the luck readings are out as I got disconnected from the server twice, the first time the luck was 74-47 in Celebrian's favour after 6 turns.
------------
A bizarre game. I benefitted from an early blitz and was up 2-0 very quickly, but had used 3 rerolls after 4 turns. Celebrian came back and scored 2 replies after injuring two of my players after I failed a GFI to take the score to 3-1.
Second half, was another tense battle as my players continued to trip and stun themselves even with the dodge skill and tacklers without Tackle - I finished the game with 3 rerolls thanks to all the times I rolled snake-eyes.
If it were not for all the snake-eyes and 1s that I rolled, I think I would have won that match either through the 3-1 lead in the first half, or caging the ball on turn 7 after my Wardancer picked it up (but got snake-eyes to run away) with a 4-3 lead and 3 rerolls left. It was not to be.
Certainly my opponent had some raw luck too, with the first disconnect happening after she got a blitz roll and managed to catch the ball (so I was told) near the line of scrimmage). She may have gone on to score, but so may have I as I had 2 turns and her ball carrier was next to two of my players and I had enough nearby to negate assists and get a two dice hit with tackle on the ball carrier. We will never know. As it was, on the reload, it went back to before she scored the TD which required quite a few difficult rolls which she made again easily.
On the reload, I did yet another snake-eyes dodge and killed my Str 4 Lino (apothed) and didn't score since he was the one who was blitzing a hole for me!
However, certainly I was hounded by bad luck today with way too many snake-eyes and double skulls compared to my opponent.
Then again, I played pretty badly too and frequently forgot to see where her guard player was (FOUR times during the game I got a 1 dicer instead of a 2 dicer because of her Guard that I didn't see). I also had a chance to blitz her Thrower too early in the first half to possibly go up 3-0, but again I rolled too many 1s. As it turned out, her thrower only had 2 Str anyway so I didn't need to send in two Wardancers (failing the GFI with the second after failing a 2+ leap with the first and rerolling it).
So much as I can curse the bad luck, my bad play also cost me a winnable game.... serves me right for starting a game at 2 AM in the morning that took almost 2 hours to play...
Man I am going to be screwed at work in the morning!!!
