“The beggars were horribly unlucky, but their rookiness (ie: lack of rerolls) showed, and Ranpuhla pulled the strings to lead his horde to their first win.
The horde put their (ex) bodies on the line for their master yet again, and their undying persistence told as the Dwarves wore themselves out, punching and smashing over and over again only to see their opponents stagger to their feet to be hit again. It was a cloying stalemate in midfield, with neither side able to win an advantage until the tide slowly began to swing in the Horde's favour.
The second half began with the Beggars reduced in numbers and battling against the Horde's supreme resilience. Cunthraakt and his kin held the centre as Ranpuhla, Wud and Yod twice sacked the hobgoblins in the backfield to run home their touchdowns.
Hats off to Tony, who beforehand warned that while he didn't mind losing, his abominable luck often got him down. It was true; he has some kind of GFI curse, and after stacking it on his first one, he left all the sprinting nonsense alone. He was horribly unlucky througout and with not many rerolls, the luck stuck. Still; a gracious and fun opponent who made it a good game.”
