“The Mongrels and Wastrels pulled through a very tough and close game, once Evil Coach and Necromancer Z threatened his Hobgoblins with imminent violence on T16 to make a 3+ pickup to score the only touchdown of the game. Z realized that this is probably a good thing to do at the start of the game now, to inspire competence.

The game started off with 10 lizzies vs a full 11 man CD roster. However, the dice conspired against the poor scaled freaks as they held onto the ball for 7 turns before having it knocked away after a Saurus tripped over an OrcaCola[TM] bottle on the field. The little skink holding onto the ball was sent to the welcoming crowd, who kept him there for the rest of the game [BH]. The ball was flung back into the hands of a waiting Chaos Dwarf Blocker who thanked the fans, and set up to assist on a vicious foul on a Saurus, who was kicked in his cold-blooded unmentionables and hurt badly enough to join the poor skink that was injured moments ago. Neither team managed to secure the ball for a score in the first half, and they dragged their feet into the second.

With the minotaur having ravaged a Saurus on the very first turn and using up the doctor's attention, the lizzies were not looking happy. The fans started off the second half with a misguided rock, clearly intended for the minotaur, instead hitting the poor hobgoblin next to him. Seeing the attempt on his life, the minotaur knocked out a Saurus and ran around, when he suddenly found the ball in his hands. Both teams converged around this enraged giant who tried to extricate the ball from one of his hooves when he was shoved next to a hobgoblin who pulled it off his feet and ran for the hills. In a show of chaos dwarven agility, Agren the Fool, a very very old hobgoblin, failed two attempts at securing the ball for a touchdown. EC&NZ screamed from the dugout that he would use Agren's entrails for kitty litter for the Cerebus if he didn't pick up that ball. Poor Agren, terrified and tired, scooped up the ball and ran to the endzone, already hearing the Cerebus in his mind. In fact, he ran so fast that he slammed into the side of the lizardman dugout and pulled his groin muscle, permanently [aged on receiving his skill... bleh].

The final setup had the Chaos Dwarves distracted, ready to celebrate their first victory when a Saurus killed one of them. The entire team gasped in shock as the poor blocker fell to the ground, trying to stem the flow of blood from his heart to the ground. The Minotaur started to roar and the hobgoblins started to scream like little girls when EC&NZ cast his "healing" magic and kept the CD alive. "Ignore the slightly greenish tinge, he's just a little... err... woozy."

With that, the game was over and the match was won! 1-0 win for the Mongrels and Wastrels over Taste The Waste!

Thanks for the fun game tautology, even if you had to wake me up at 2 am to play :) Good luck in the rest and hope you kick someone else's ass in revenge!
