A tough match against our bearded brethren.
This was the second match-up between the Grudgebearers and the Heroes in the CCC tournaments. Yet again they faced off in the pouring rain. Which, as last time, is funny because the arena is a dome deep in the dwarven mineral mines. Pulled a useless handicap (virus with no nigglers). Hired a rune smith to give agility to my rookie runner.

The first half was a midget-wrestling match with dorf beating dorf, with little to no effect. Still I managed to separate the ball from their runners, even picking it up and bringing back to their half. Alas I wasn't able to score as they forced my runner with the ball between sidelines and 2 of them. All I could do was knock over their only player in scoring position and wait for the second half.

Second half started with the Heroes slowing marching the ball up over the top of the field. Soon the Grudgebearers started to find themselves undermanned as a couple of their players left the field. This also signals the Heroes cue to change directions as most of the opposition was bunched up on top. Stand firm and guard managed to keep my runner in the clear until deep into their part of the field (the mvp should of gone to Dr. Aluminum-Foil-Face for his ability not to give an inch of ground these crucial couple of turns). Soon enough the spreading of my forces allowed Grue to pop the ball free from my runner. Luckily my runed rookie runner managed to snatch the ball up thanks to his heighten agility (ok the rune had no effect the whole game he rolled a one and sure hands rerolled a six in the pickup, and that was the only agility roll he made all game) placing himself precariously between some possible blitzers with little protection around him. Luckily the blitz failed as the defending dwarf's dodge didn’t. The snooty runner easily walked the ball into the end zone pausing only for a little snuff for his upturned nose, as the clock winded down on the last turn.

Woot! The Not-So-Superheroes are going to finals. Bring on da Orks.
