Wilma Rootcake reporting for the Halfling's Luncheon Journal.

Today the Dirty Hairfoots played Gorkz Gobboz, a team of wily Goblins. Coach Mighti Potluck was pleased that for once his halflings would be playing a team they could physically match up against, and it turned out to be quite the brutal brawl.

The teams spent most of the game throwing blocks midfield. The ball was fumbled countless times and the normally evasive halflings and goblins were constantly tackled as they tried to dodge around the field. It was a violent game by any standard, several of the Dirties were badly hurt, but luckily only Evip the Stout is expected to miss time. The Gobboz were less fortunate, and three of their players aren't expected to make their next game. Besides these, there were countless players knocked out - the Gobboz were particularly unlucky in this regard...as their players were for the most part knocked out cold for the entire match. It was truly a game for the fans - with bodies flying everywhere! The troll Gargmoschgit and Twig the treeman each inflicted three casualties.

The Dirties managed to break loose for a touchdown late in the first half, and for once scored by rushing downfield instead of the normal Halfling Bomb play. Coach Mighti had the following to say - "This was a hard fought game, and I think we were lucky in a lot of regards. The boys showed their grit though for sure, our halflings dont usually get to throw that many blocks. I made some delicious treats before the game, and I think it motivated our guys pretty good. We always play better with a good meal in our tummies."

Hugo Bunbaker scored the team's touchdown to win the game, and Vebbi Shroomeater also had 3 completions - more than the Dirties have had in all their previous games combined. Hugo said the following - "Coach made us some delicious sticky buns, a huge chocolate turnip cake, a plate of spicy chicken wings, cabbage and rabbit stew, a wonderful carrot salad, peanut butter cookies, and a big plate of tender boar flanks. The boys were pretty pepped up being well fed! Not only that but his wife brought us sugary dumplings, a great spiced turkey, some cinnamon oatmeal, a piping hot Berrycake, some smoked salmon, and of course her signature tea! It was really wonderful, Coach has been feeding us great and it shows with our play! I think those goblins were a bit distracted from all that great food we were eating. Tubbun said they weren't really paying attention when their coach was going over plays. This was a good win, its always good to play teams our size...man it gets scary playing some of those big teams. One of their trolls was sure scary, he was throwing some wicked blocks...but our man Twig did some damage too."

Coach Mighti on Twig - "Twig played excellent for us for the most part. We couldnt execute the Halfling Bomb play when we tried, but Twig did alot of damage as well. He got stuck in and held up groups of goblins at a time."

Coach Mighti suggested that the winnings for the game would go towards freebooting star Treeman Deeproot Strongbranch for the next game, so if you missed this great game Dirties fans, make sure you catch the next one!

This game felt like Amateur's League Blood Bowl with a bit of Stunty Leeg mixed in. Both team were doing everything but play the ball! Every second dodge ended with a player down or out, picking up the ball ended in fumbling it all over the place and casualties on both sides started mounting up fast. The fact that I couldn't get my KO'ed players back in the game might have done me in at the end (6 players in KO during 2nd half), but then again, I might have scored a tie in the last turn if that useless Gobbo had picked up the ball for a pass instead of kicking it away! :-)
Great game, MightyGnome. This was one of the funniest games I have played on FUMBBL, and it wasn't even Stunty Leeg. o_o
