“Meant to be sort of a recovery game, we started off with only ten players. This number immetiadely dropped down to nine, as Haleth sat the game out due to It Wasn't Me. Having little hope for victory, we prepared to kick for the first half.
Amazingly enough, we managed to pull off one ridiculous elfball manouver after another, and actually managed to start the second half in a 2-1 lead, after taking one touchdown by rushing backfield to knock out the thrower and another barely in time with a quick 2-turn td at the eigth turn. So, even though we were down to 8 players by the start of the second half, I had actually gained some confidence.
Scoring quite early in the second half, our task was now to defend our 3-1 lead with only seven players on the field. The norse tried to snatch a quick touchdown, but fumbled the ball in our half, which allowed Arien to throw a remarkable long pass to Silmarien, waiting eagerly on the other side of the pitch. Our quick little catcher ran too far for the norse to catch up. Managing to stall for one turn before scoring the decisive touchdown, the game was practically over.
---
Luckily, we managed to finish the game with no serious injuries (apart from the niggle Vána took from the first block of the match - luckily our apo handled the situation well). Two skill rolls, neither one doubles, of course. We really need a guard or two in our team. Hiring a new lineman, Uinen, our team is in perfect condition, for the first time in a while. The next game should be interesting.”
