“Feeling kind of goofy and overly confident, and since our team was for once in peak condition, we challenged shaman's foul-happy chaos team. After all, I have always felt that games between elfs and bashers are the most interesting, if not too safe for the elves...

Fortunately, our fragile elven armor held up pretty good in this match. In fact, the only serious injuries were caused by shaman's dp, who kept happily kicking our prone players until evicted in the 15th turn.

The game itself was good for us. After shaman's beast fumbled a pass early in the first half, Elerrína and Silmarien managed to blitz him down and score - Elerrína getting her first td (and finally her first spp, in her fifth game!). Harbringers were really close to tieing the score in the eigth turn, but Níniel heroically managed to escape from something like a dozen blocks, making the pick-up more difficult and ultimately preventing the touchdown.

In the second half, we scored quickly and went for a similar rush-the-ball-carrier tactic when kicking in a 2-0 lead. This time, however, Harbringers managed to pass succesfully. Being beat up already, there was little we could do to prevent them from scoring.

We received with only six players on the pitch, and I was already feeling concerned about whether we could actually win. Fortunately, an opening was left for Níniel, who caught Vána's pass and rushed a whole ten squares to score on turn 15, confirming our win. For the last two turns it was only about survival, and we managed it quite well.

A good game spp-wise, too - Elerrína is finally only a td away from her first skill and Finduilas, who didn't score, got the mvp. Níniel finally reached Star Player status. Good news: she didn't age (woot!). Bad news: another normal skill. Fortunately, there are a lot of good normal skills for our catchers to take, so she learned to side step - along with Dump Off, she'll be an annoying little elf.

FF could start rising, however - this was like our fourth game in a row with a +2 or +3 modifier, and still no!”
