“The Juggernauts started in defence and played aggressively, sending in both Bull Centaurs into the Carbuncles half and gambling that the Carbuncles would miss a reasonably difficult pass play.
The Carbuncles executed their pass play with ease, but were forced to score quickly as the player with the ball was about to get swarmed by a mass of Chaos Dwarves and Bull Centaurs.
The Juggernauts upon receiving feinted heavily to the left then swung to the right to score a relatively easy TD late in the first half to even the score at half time.
In the second period, the Juggernauts started in offence and took some time to set up their offence after some fumbling around with the ball in the backfield. However, the Juggernauts soon found themselves under some pressure as one player was sent off after the first foul of the game, and then another was badly hurt when the Carbuncles did a revenge foul!
The Juggernauts set up to score with a decent screen, but the Carbuncles managed to knock the ball free after their Ogre ran around the back and blitzed the ball carrier (2 GFIs, and he managed to get a Pow on my Blodger as well hehehe).
The Juggernauts looked close to having a few players pinned on the sidelines but were able to free up some room, and then fire a quick pass to Bull Centaur Kzakorag Stormfist who almost dropped the catch, but managed to run in to score what turned out to be the winning TD as the Carbuncles were unable to get the ball past the line of scrimmage with about a third of the period left to draw the match.
The Juggernauts in fact had a chance to score a third TD after a mild pitch invasion knocked out one Carbuncle player and the Juggernauts penetrated into the Carbuncles half, but an error (I accidently dodged a Chaos Dwarf before I moved to the ball with a Sure Hands Hobbo LOL) allowed the Carbuncles to prevent a third TD.
-----------
It was a very tight match between very even teams. He had a heap of Str 4, Guard and in particular, his Black Orc Blocker with Stand Firm, Block and Guard was a real pain.
My opponent played well and didn't make it easy for me, and in particular, his Ogre blitz though a bit lucky with all the rolls hehehe took me totally by surprise. As it was, he had to get a lot of pushbacks to open up the laneway in the first place and I did not even see that he could set up the play hehehe.
Unfortunately, a win, but a loss in FF. On a brighter note, Hobgoblin Zapuki Facesplat made Super Star status (76 SPP) without aging and only has the one niggle from earlier in his career. I didn't want Tackle so I took Pass Block... which I might ask to change given I don't field this guy on defence anyway hehehe.”
