“The talk before the match was how the Varisty might retire enough players to end the legendary Goats for good. Never count out the Goats. The Varsity did recover from the opening blitz to score easily, then take advantage of the Goats' only mistake of the match to score again.
The would be no more elven scoring. Even as it looked like the elves would go up 3-1, a beastman came out of nowhere to POW a blodging catcher after using a RR on a GFI. A WD fell on a leap attempt at scoring, and the Goats took it all the way back for the tie.
As with all of our games, it was great and it was fun.
The Goats came off the block ready to go with an opening blitz to knock the Elves off their feet. After some early jitters..... the elves quickly recovered but were forced into an early score by the deep Goats D.
They extra energy left the Goats a little lightheaded toward protecting the ball and the Elves were able to knock it free! A mis-managed (misclick) dodge cost the Goats any chance of recovering before half and maimed a few more elves. Nobbla took his dear sweet time cutting through elven armour and halftime saw the Elves confident walking in with a 2-0 lead.
Receiving the ball the Goats galloped down the field leaving a trail of elves running away in terror! A quick score left there 5 turns for some Goat D......
ANOTHER BLITZ! Sprinting down again the Goats were able to pressure the Elven offense into another quick attempt at a TD, tragically the lack of elves meant they could not contain the streaking catcher. A swift Horn and the ball was free down the sidelines into the hands of the Chicken Strangler and a dying seconds TD was scored resulting in a tie!
Good match Texan, kinda sad no injuries.....
