#7 Ranulph of Durham – Broken Ribs (MNG) #7 Ranulph of Durham – Serious Concussion (-AV)
“On paper it sure seemed an uphill struggle; lots of blodge, few +ST and few guards. Vs my 3 tacklers and only 1 guard (no +ST) The two handi's were bone head (on his st4/blodge blitzer) and 1 Morleys's. His thrower niggled out so that made it all a bit more playable. Still; in my view he held the advantage. My better passing ability vs his blodge/guards/more muscle seemed not too bright for me.
Yet I had Torquemada; the ag5/leap/strip baller so I figured that I would be able to force him some plays he'd not like since he has no sure hands on his team.
He persistently gave the ball to his ST4 witch, but -2D with strip ball is not all that bad odds and the 3rd time I tried it worked; 1-0.
The 4th time Torquemada tried I misclicked and instead of ending his turn I ended the team turn. (ouch!)
But in his turn he had some apalling dice at the worst moment possible; double skulls resulting in a KO of him in Turn 8 left the score 1-0 to my advantage with me receiving the 2nd half.
I received and since he left the wide zone uncontested I dove in htere with 5 players. One of them would be able to score! (was my hope anyway)
Well; a bit harder than I had hoped for after a first dodge failing. But in hte end the blitzer caught the ball and even gfi'd once with it into endzone.
2-0. And suddenly an uphill struggle for him.
Well; to make a long story short; I never gave away the advantage, albeit with some pretty hairy moments and never bad dice at the critical moment.
Shame about the -AV thrower but without a double he is not worth keeping around IMO.
Torquemada was surfed and promptly Badly Hurt. (safe I suppose)
