“A brutal match - five casualties (actually six, one of them self-inflicted) and plenty of KOs. To make things worse, both teams didn't have any reserves on their bench...

The Rattleheads received, and knocked Rattuce out with their very first block. Speedy Gonzales got the ball and ran almost into the endzone, but then Johnny Ratten tripped while dodging and seriously injured himself. I then sent two of my own Runners after the opponent, and Sonic knocked Speedy down and caused another serious injury! The Heads then retaliated with a KO and a SI, but couldn't get their hands on the ball. I picked it up, but made a serious mistake - I tried to pass two times in the same turn :( That couldn't work, of course, and ended with my thrower being KOed and the Heads getting the ball. A failure to pass it gave me the opportunity to seize it again, and Sonic attempted a long bomb to Cobrat in the opponent's endzone, but he fumbled it (I had better not used a RR, because the first attempt was not a fumble :X). The Heads then tried to make use of their numerical advantage. At first I could KO his other Gutter Runner and knock down the ballcarrier, but a rather spectacular action by Linerat Paulchen led to the 1-0 (he picked up the ball in a TZ, dodged, passed it to a Storm Vermin, who caught it and scored).

Now both my throwers were in the KO box, and they didn't come back, so I had to improvise. Luckily, my opponent caused a touchback, and I gave it to Cobrat far behind my lines. A bit of hitting sent Luca to the BH box, and my other Runners moved into their backfield. He covered them with two players each and sent one Storm Vermin to attack Cobrat, but he failed his GFI and fell over. Now, because all other opponents were standing next to the Runners, Ratplant and Ratical were left alone with but one Linerat, which Ratical promptly knocked down and stunned. Cobrat ran forward, threw a short pass to Ratplant, and he walked into the endzone to tie the score. The rest of the first half was pretty uneventful, as we had only one turn left.

Now I was receiving again, but my throwers were still knocked out. So I had Cobrat care for the ball again and had my other players do some bashing. Babe Rath, the Heads' thrower, was KOed, and again my players invaded their backfield. Again he tried to cover them, but again I was able to blitz a Linerat free - this time it was Rattuce, who then got a pass from Cobrat and scored.

Now my opponent adapted my tactics. After injuring Rattish, he sent a Storm Vermin and his remaining Gutter Runner into my half. After I knocked the Runner down, he blitzed the Vermin free, passed him the ball and scored. 2-2.

My turn to receive again, but this time my opponent got a Perfect Defense. However, my Gutter Runners were just too dodgy for him. Since I now had a thrower back, I sent all three Runners into his half of the pitch. He mistook my thrower for a Gutter Runner and blitzed him with a linerat, getting only a pushback. I disposed of the lino, and had Sonic dodge from between two opponents and get into the endzone. Mad Rat McQueak then passed him a very accurate long bomb, and I was in the lead again.

My next kickoff landed almost in the corner of the pitch, inside my opponent's endzone. His thrower reached it, but couldn't carry it anymore. Since all of his players rushed down one wide zone - the one furthest away from his thrower -, I decided to attack him directly. Three Ag 4 Gutter Runners meant I had a chance of actually intercepting a pass. While I was at it, I badly hurt one of his linerats. :) He decided to avoid the Runners, set up his players to receive and attempted a long bomb over my Storm Vermin. The first attempt was off target - and the second was fumbled. That decided it, of course, since I could easily knock out the thrower, pick up the ball and score a final touchdown.

I believe I have never earned so many SPP (28) in a single match. It was very Skaven-like, with lots of touchdowns and cool ball-handling - and lots of players being carried off the pitch, some to return, some not... Earning 70k allowed me to get a new Rat Ogre to replace the one that was killed the match before. Now if only my FF hadn't dropped (stupid 1...)”
