A rather straightforward game from the Khemri Finest's side. Their one and only tactic, as in all their games, was to decimate the opponent's team.
By a flick of fortune one of their two werewolves of the Black Knights decided that his injury was too much of a problem to participate in the game, and remained in the dug-out. However, a similar fate struck one of the top players in the Khemri team, where one of their blitz-ras was in such a poor condition, that it would be impossible for it to enter the field.
The Black Knights wont he toss, and thanks to a quick snap, they darted forward from the line and smashed into the Khemri team with a nasty impact, knocking out two of the three defending skeletons.
The Khemri team answered with same brute force, knocking out a wight with their first block, but not much else was accomplished, leaving the momentum to the Black Knights, who now suddenly decided not to stick around to bash things out, but rather to get an early lead and try to defend it. By turn two, Michael the Werewolf scored a nice touchdown that any elven team would be proud of.
In the following drive, the battle lust of the mummies was on the top, and with mad frenzy, they went out swinging at the Black Knights, who had taken a very offensive defensive setup, badly hurting a wight and a zombie, as well as knocking out a second zombie. Things were looking good, and even better when in the following turn, Michael the Werewolf managed to trip while dodgeing and seriously injured himself. Things were even brighter now with the main threat of the Black Knights taken out of the game.
The Khemri team continued to bash in their following turn, knocking out a flesh golem, although, the Black Knights retiliated by badly hurting a skeleton.
The following turns passed by quickly with a failed blitz by a mummy against a wight that opened up a clear path to blitz the Khemri ball carrier, but alas, this failed, and the wight was stunned. The Khemri team sensed that victory was close, and on a blitz, managed to seriously injured another wight, allowing for the Black Knights only to have five players left on the pitch, and, in the following Khemri turn, a third wight was knocked out, and a zombie badly hurt. Three players left on the field by the end of turn 6.
This appeared to have enraged the Black Knights, who retaliated by killing a skeleton, with what must have been black magic, because the skeleton fell to pieces all too easily. But this prevented not the Khemri team from scoring at turn 8 to tie the game 1-1.
The second half started similar to the first, with a zombie being seriously injured, another one badly hurt, and a third knocked out, allowing for an instant 3 man advantage on the field for the Khemri team.
However, the following turned saw an excellent blitz by a wight, who effectively knocked the ball carrier prone with a nice block. But alas, as he was to dodge away to pick up the ball, he tripped and fell to the ground, giving back the initiative to the Khemri team. The ball was back in Khemri bones, and the ball carrier immediatly went into a protective cage provided by three mummies. However, this did not inspire fear into the Black Knights, who attempted to break the cage apart with a blitz from their flesh golem, but alas, the gods weren't smiling this day, as he threw some skulls.
In the Khemri turn 4, the fans had started to demand more blood, as they figured not enough had been sheded. To atone for this, the Khemri team playfully tossed a zombie in to them for their enjoyment. The zombie was immediatly torn into tiny bits. May he Rest In Pieces. However, prior to this, a wight was again badly hurt by a blitzing mummy.
In the following turns, it all was a matter of keeping the Black Knights on the ground, not allowing them to get close enough to touch the ball carrier. A zombie got badly hurt because of this tactic, and a short while later, a wight again, who appeared to be taking a lot of punishment this game.
At turn 8, the Khemri ball carrier walked in the winning 2-1 touchdown, allowing for the Khemri Finest to proceed to the 2nd round of the X-cup.”
