Well, this was a strange match. Horrors Heroes got off to a terrible start. After giving the touchback to Axe, the first move in turn two saw him skull (or pow/skull) on two dice placing the ball right into the hands of Leg Breaka. She wasn't about to do anything silly with it, and the rest of the team was able to protect her pretty well, right through to a touchdown in turn eight. We stalled out the last couple of turns in the hopes that either Zargithis or Angels (the only two tacklers on the Necro team) might stay in the KO box for the second half as well - this was not to be ;-)
Things started going the Heroes way in the second half however. Perfect defence, and a fine kick deep into the backfield put the orks on the back foot right from the word go. Seeing an opportunity, Zargithis knocked down Bone Krasha, right into the boot of Vicomte Ammonius who's very first foul for the match saw him send a ST4 ork into the BH box. This was possibly the key move preventing a second touchdown.
When Loony Tossa knocked herself down in an attempt to make a more secure cage for the ball Big Chukka (ball carrier), she ended up opening a gap for a combined effort from Nimbosa and Zargithis, who sent Hed Splitta into the crowd. At this point, the orks were starting to find themselves running out of players, and panicked - rushing for the end zone as fast as possible. Not fast enough to escape Zargithis (of course), who made sure that the ball didn't make it all the way.
A little bit of bad luck for the Heroes saw us regain the ball, and get it almost all the way to the end of the field, however, in the final turn, it came right back with a long pass right to Micky, who slipped over trying to get past the orks in between him and the end-zone.
------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------
3 pts - #2 Ssilh
Attempting to make up for his fellow Golem (who succeeded in helping the orks far more than he helped the Heroes), Ssilh was the only player able to actually inflict any damage on the orks. He also made some surprisingly agile moves, pushing his way into gaps that didn't even seem to be there, and standing firmly on his feet the whole while.
2 pts - #7 Vicomte Ammonius
He didn't do a whole lot, except for a key foul on Bone Krasha, which definitely changed the second half of the match. I'm not really sure I should be awarding Twahnlow votes for such unsportsmanly behaviour, but here I am, doing just that.
1 pt - #14 Zargithis
although he was really only on the field for half of the match, he did pretty well while he was on there. Trouble is that his job was supposed to be removing orks from the pitch, and although he did a little of that, it was too little, too late. He did just enough to prevent a second touchdown -- not quite enough for the heroes to get one of their own (the last ditch attempt at a pass was mighty impressive though!)
-5 pts - #1 Axe
Well, a part of our agreement was that I'd give him some votes toward the Twahnlow medal. He made good on his part of the bargain, handing over the ball as soon as he got an opportunity, so here I am, awarding him a whole -5 points for doing such a great job of it! (The check is in the mail)”

3 points: Leg Breaka - made THE crucial play of the game, bouncing Axe in turn 2 AND absconding with the ball
2 points: Face Masha - showed a lot of ticker to deny Zargithis the ball near the end when the Heroes were applying all sorts of pressure.
1 point: Back Breaka - killed Richie III early on to really hamper our ball carrying and mobility for the rest of the match.”
