The dangersmiths looking for a tough challenge found one vs the Diamond Geezers! Under the expert coaching of Meetgrinder, they played "diamond-solid" defense in the first half despite only pushing the Dangersmiths around and for a solid five turns, the Dangersmiths only moved the ball a couple paces towards the Geezers goalline after a crazy kick that landed the ball on the Dangersmiths goaline. At halftime the game was 0 - 0 and the Dangersmiths knew they were in for a loonnggg game!

This has proved to the Dangersmiths, that they need to practice their guard skill and hopefully, on the next rematch vs the Geezers they can match them in skill on the pitch, of course nuffle is gonna have to show up too!

Meetgrinder is a very challenging and talented coach and its always a pleasure playing him! He is helping me improve my own game, thanks Meetgrinder!

My tradition of starting slow continues. Outlucked in the first half, with the Dangersmiths pounding the Geezers into the floor repeatedly, whereas the Geezers could only push the Smiths around a bit - saying that though I didn't throw many 1 dice blocks, and didn't use any of my 4 rr until the 8th turn of the first, then rolled doubleskulls after :)

The Smiths 2 rr and lack of guard (though they were able to field 11 vs my 10 after the runner was BH) hurt in the 2nd half as Nuffle decided to tip the scales. Careful positioning, and more than a little luck (though all blocks were 2 dice in the key moves) made a hole, and when you get running, not much a 4MA Longbeard can do. Cue the all dodgin, all passin Blitzers, who were determined to make life hard for me :S

I tied one up, and the other threw a 1 dice blitz on 2 GFI to avoid another guard, but tripped, allowing my Blitzer to run free. Even then, things weren't clear cut, he got up and blitzed my Guard, but could manage only pushback. The games' only TD was run home in turn 15 (for me) and it was all over bar the shouting after that.

No players were Ko'd (plenty stunned) 1 Badly hurt (wimpy runner) and 1 Killed (apo saved, thankfully) means both teams come away bruised from a typical Dwarven encounter.

As usual with Ted, it's a hard hard game to play and win, after our only other meeting, another virtual pitch war, ended 1-1.

This time, with 10 Dwarves but 3 guards, I got the break I needed, and the extra cash at the end will do nicely too, cheers :) -1 FF and poor cash for the Dangersmiths is very harsh though - they gave at least as good as they got, and the fans are fickle indeed! Booo!

The Geezers will have to toughen up for the rematch... now, where to find some flings to snack on....

Cheers for the game Ted, a pleasure as usual, you're one of Fumbbls' good guys :)
