“I got my ass kicked but good in the 1st half - couldn't make a dent in the Skellies armour, save for the odd Ko and 1 (regen) death, despite getting the ref (and using it 6 times - I don't usually foul at all but against 4 bad ass mummies it would be dumb not to).
I got 4 fouls in return, only 2 of which the ref spotted, and 1 was sent off, fair enough.
The kickoffs I did get I guess to make up for cas. They were pitch invasion, get the ref, throw stone, bad kick and extra reroll as far as I remember, all dropping nicely for me. Maybe Nuffle was trying to make up for the fact AV9 had been acting like Av6 in the first half.
Anyway, at 1-0 up and hardly any players, I figured things couldn't get worse - they didn't, they got better. *Finally* started to make a dent in the Skellies armour, mostly KOing, but my Kos came back, theirs didn't. They struggled to pick up the ball as well, and I was accused of stalling at one point - because I didn't want to risk 2 GFi to score? I'd tried 2 GFI in the first half and failed, so screw that for a game of soldiers!
It was hard to tell what the Khemri game plan was - a couple of rushhing skeletons ready to receive the ball deep in my own half without any cover? Dunno. Anyway, my Ag4 Gobbo did us proud, scooping the loose (2 TZ) ball up and running free, then resisting a skelly blitz with double pushback, reroll and... double pushback!
What looked like a dicerape in the first half (and despite what Darkhood might think, I got my ass kicked with 2 BH and 4 slow return KO) tipped my way in the 2nd half, and gave me the luck score you see there.
Both teams had luck in the high 50s/low 60s most of the game, and the Khemri blocked like they meant business, scoring pow after pow. Their running game and lack of AG3 let them down though, thankfully for me.
A brutal, bashy, hard fought game, closer I would say than the scoreline suggests, but that's bloodbowl.
Sometimes you're the arrow, sometimes you're the target.
And sometimes you're the prison soap boy :S
GG Darkhood - your Khemri hit hard indeed, but need to remember the ball every now n again :)”
