“Started the game a man down against a heavily fortified orc team, brimming with block capable players.
The lads got of too a great start with Makaeon Inl'Taer scoring on our second turn after stealing the ball away from the orcs.
They then proceeded to engage in a rolling defence, holding off the orc drive until the very last turn of the half, when a lack of defenders allowed the orcs to finally find space.
The second half saw us receiving and true to form, we were aiming for the win, despite being several players down. However, it wasn't to be and the orcs picked off a loose ball and ran in for the TD.
Quite a few poor 2+ dodge rolls really hampered the team during the game, which led to my decision to attempt a 1d block with the ball carrier, rather than attempting the 3 dodges required to break through. Of course I rolled skull =)
In the end a somewhat sad result because I believe that we could have pulled out at least a draw from the game. All credit to Danoman who kept forcing dodge rolls whenever he could and never panicked during his first scoring drive. Extra mention for his sportsmanship as he limited his blocks towards the end of the game, ensuring that I only suffered the single missed game result. Much appreciated.”
