“On an open field somewhere in an unknown countryside, the Guard found a team of Halflings and Treemen willing to play them in a game. The game started. The fans of the Guard cheered noisily while the players took to the pitch. These fans were also dedicated to Pitran. On the first turn, Thickroot Pineneedle smashed the hand of the loyal Quintas Verniat. The others on the front line crumbled and the game looked hopeless from the start.

But Pitran rewards his followers, and the team managed to stop the advance of the flings after a mid-pitch brawl, an intercepted pass from Kimithan Prooling, and several flings went to the dugout injured.

Second half started with the Guard receiving. With a cage around Selcott Galdrian, the team’s receivers raced downfield. The cage was broken, only to find that Selcott had rushed and threw the ball to Jadminth Nattowen, who later scored after more carnage was inflicted on the poor flings.

With the strong Guss Birry off the field, the Guard was able to steal the ball away. Haplin Yealth threw it to Ramquine Buggamoth, who also scored. At the end of the game, there were only three or four flings left on the pitch. Well placed hits on the flings’ armor, some failed dodges resulting in deaths and other bad injuries, an apothecary failing, and lucky pick ups helped the Guard overcome their first foe.

As a result, the order drew the attention of more followers, the team got some money, and ramquine, the only descendant of earlier order members, learned how to run a little faster as he got the MVP.
