“The Vampires had grown and prospered out in the world of the ranked, battleing, biting, winning and losing, but always growing in strength. Bored with that existance they heard of a place called the Fringe, and so renewed with lust for fresh blood they sought this mythical place. And so the Vamps, with their portable dinner entered the Fringe. Once here they where adrift for a while, but then word came of a new meal. It was a Gumbi meal, a taste of flesh such as the Vampires had never tasted. But to enter they must bring their own Gumbi to the feast, and so their own gumbi was born, from a thrall who's previous name was already forgotton, for he was now simply 'gumbi'.
And so the first course was served.
A meal of zombies and ghouls, wights and mummies, and one gumbi.
The Vampires are experienced and have gained a control of their bloodlust (pro) and so when battle was commenced they managed to ignore the tender thralls around them, focusing on their true desire.... the enemy gumbi. But their focus was to all-consuming, for never before had they tasted gumbi, and so their usual grace was lacking (rolled lots of ones).
And so their own gumbi came under assault by the enemy, but brave of heart is our gumbi (for if he's going to get eaten by enemy vamps will eat him first cause he's our meal, no one elses!), and he flailed wildly, holding off the hungry undead.
And so it came to pass that despite the vamps fumblings, they fell upon the enemy gumbi, but an unwilling meal was he, for despite all efforts, the Vamps couldn't sink there teeth into succulent flesh.
The undead, Imperial Youngbloods they where, broke through our non-existant line and charged for the td. Brought abruptly back, a different strategy was decided, and so a vamp went to defend our goal, with some thralls to assist, whilst others went for the elusive gumbi. But to late, to little, and shortly thereafter they scored the first td.
Late in the first half it was, and a change of tactics was in order, so mostly ignoring the gumbi, except a single attempt to eat him out, which alas failed, we instead went for our own td, which succeeded.
On the last turns of the first half, our vampire was targeted so fouley, but the ref was bought, and justice wasn't served, so we took it upon ourselves to deal it, and so we lay a mummy low, surrounded it with vampires and thralls alike, and laid into it with fist and fang. A mangled messs he was, but alas he regenerated. As had our vamp, but that's besides the point.
So into the second half, scores one each, both gumbis still roaming free. And some pissed vamps as they where starting to realise that this gumbi they where chasing ain't even living, no hot, succulent, life blood pumped through its veins. And so, bloodlust cooled somewhat, the vamps started using their thralls, going for the ball, and playing a more directed game. And there chance came, we could score, or we could go the gumbi..... and so the gumbi was gone for, but resiliant as always, he was knocked to the ground but still wiggling about. So the vamps gathered round (except for him which got hungry and ate a thrall), and so they ordered the enemies gumbie's death, and a thrall leapt eagerely forward, for jealous where they of this outsider gumbi, and pummulled he was, unto his death..........
And so one gumbi dead, dead, dead.”
