“1st time I've played my pro elf team in a while - with the 40 point difference between TR & TS it's been really hard to find a decent matchup. This was the best I've been able to find and it saw me give up one handicap and play 12 points down in TS. Tecumseh niggled out of this game leave the elves to play with 10.
1st half:
Elves burned 3 rerolls in the 1st 3 turns after a pitch invasion knocked down scores of players and they were left scrambling to get the ball out of the backfield. Garibaldi blitzed open a lane for Amaru for the 1st score - 1-0.
2nd score came on turn 8 with Amaru the only player in scoring range. He blitzed down a skink, scooped, and ran to the endzone. 2-0.
2nd half:
Elves managed to break the lizzies cage, pow the skink with the ball, and watch as it bounced about a dozen times before winding up in the hands of my thrower. Eventually got the ball into scoring range and a mv8 saurus blitzed the ball loose. Skink tried to get to it but failed the dodge to get loose. Blitzed the saurus away and recoved the ball for the eventual score. 3-0.
Aftermath:
Amaru (of course) got the mvp and that pushed him to his next skill level where he aged a niggle. Now I've got 4 to replace -might be a thrower and a lineman with 130k in the bank now.
My opponent was also down about his play after this loss and a previous bad one. He always seemed to get the ball into a cage, but would often have one or more of the saurus in contact with a standing elf. This allowed me to get some assists over, block away a corner of the cage, and then blitz a 2-die on the skink within. These lizzies have a crazy amount of speed - if the cage is formed "in the open" those skinks should be scoring left and right.”
