-----------------
The Falcons started in offence and pushed some receiverrs downfield before dropping a backfield pass. The Fredrick blitzed Valdrek causing a niggle (apothed) then fouled him (stun)! Nasty first turn.

The Falcons scored quickly (2 turns) then had a Perfect Defence on the kickoff. The LOS players shifted slightly. but the Fredrick still got 5 players through.

Fredrick coach Zatoc advised that he was gunning for Valdrek so Valdrek went and took out the opposing Str4 Thrower (AV7) whilst surrounded by junior players to protect against being hit back. This caused Zatoc to threaten to give Valdrek the boot again.

This left an easy TD for the Fredrick to score as on the other wing and soon it was 1-1.

On the next kickoff, it was the Fredrick who had a Perfect Defence. This put pressure on the Falcons who then had some luck when their Witch Elf got a one dice pow on her followup Frenzy hit and caused a niggling injury on the Fredrick MA7 Str4 Kicker (apothed).

The Falcons again were pinned close to the line of scrimmage. There was an opening in their cage.

The Fredrick could get a two dice blitz on Valdrek (though without tackle) if they could get a Guard player around the back. Unluckily for Zatoc, he rolled a 1 to dodge (using his RR) and then got a 1 on the GFI and knocked himself out.

Looking back on the replay now, even if he did knock the ball down, I think the Falcons were still in a good position to recover the ball as the Fredrick had to bring in another player first to cancel out an assist and I had more players nearby that could help. Still a chance gone begging so we will never know.

This gave the Falcons a huge advantage. as they were able to advance the ball and form a cage downfield. The Fredrick blitzed a cage corner and put multiple tackle zones on Valdrek and the front of the cage, but the Falcons used chain pushbacks to free up players and set up a 3 man cage on the sideline just short ot the endzone. It was a tense time as a 1 was rolled on one of the GFI and the final player had to make a 2+ dodge and 2+ GFI to screen Valdrek off (though he was pretty save even if the second screener didn't make it.

The Fredrick pushed at the screening player near the basline and put two tackle zones on VAldrek, including a player with Dirving Tackle. The Falcons pushed a player behind the Diving Tackler and then pushed him out of bounds to free Valdrek up for the go ahead score.

The Fredrick did not get far with their drive (some cruddy blocks) and put the ball in a cage near the line of scrimmage. The Falcons brought a player down and fouled him, causing a niggling injury but gettting sent off immediately (damn 6, but Zatoc got a 6 on his first foul in the first half too so that was fair overall).

Zatoc was annoyed with me, saying that I liked to foul his teams. However, I reminded him (a difference of opinion, no biggie) that the first time I had played him, I did no fouls. Game 2 I did 5 fouls, but he had stalled first - and stalled for something like 12 turns overall in the two halves after telling me in game that he was NOT going to stall. This game, I had been fouled by Zatoc first., and also this was a tourney. The conversation died there and we will have to agree to disagree as fouling in a tourney is as valid as stalling in my own personal view which is not worth very much.

Anyways, there were no more fouls from either team after this.

The Fredrick advanced the ball in a cage down the sideline. The Falcons applied some pressure and Fredrick looked like they would not score with only 9 players and a Falcons Witch with Blodge Tackle Sidestep in the way. However, Fredrick had a two dice block on the Falcons witch and not only got a Pow without tackle, but also badly hurt her! And Zatoc who was saying that he was in trouble, exclaimed, 'Ha!', before scoring an easy TD.

The Falcons on offence then had a terrible round of blocks. 7 or 8 two dice blocks netted two knockdowns. That was it! Then the Falcons made an error and threw to the wrong Thrower - Valdrek shoulda been the receiver!

Team Fredrick then had a mix of good and bad luck. A two dice block on my Witch got a Pow on one of two dice (no tackle) opening up an avenue of attack. Although only a push was needed, the pow and a resulting stun was certainly nice. A Fredrick Witch blitzed the Falcons Thrower and got a Push which would mean a follow up into the cage where it would be two dice against. Zatoc rerolled the block and got a Skull.

The Falcons swung with the ball out wide. Then Zatoc had a very misfortunate misclick where he dodged across two tackle zones and knocked himself out.

This made it easy for the Falcons to advance further down the sideline with the ball and they then took a risky score (instead of the easy one) by throwing to a player who needed two GFI to score instead of walking in the uncontested TD.

With one turn left in the game, the Falcons got a Blitz! With Zatoc and I both hurrying to finish the game before his girlfriend came home and busted him, I made a silly mistake.

I pressed forwards instead of running back.

Team Fredrick then targetted my AG5 Legend with a T16 Mighty Blow Blitz and despite having no tackle, got a POW and caused a RIP with the Mighty Blow adding a +1 to the roll of 9 for the casualty. Zatoc claimed he didn't mean to kill him, but there was no one else that was easy to hit. Looking at the replay now, Takarth a blitzer with only 3 skills was just as easy to blitz, but he wasn't AG5 or a Legend, so the explanation is a bit incongruent.

Anyways it happens and the Falcons though steadily losing their stars, are starting to become a team that will get a lot more games as they will be under TS 300 once Valdrek gets the sack.

Overall, it was a good game with the Falcons having better luck (and with cruddy handicaps, that certainly didn't help either) and then Zatoc's misclick was also very unfortunate.

Anyways, hopefully Zatoc and I can have another game sometime as he is one of the top coaches around and definately a challenge to play.

That is 6 Smack Legends from 6 attempts!

#4 Fred Fail A – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#4 Fred Fail A – Smashed Knee (NI)
Not going to write as much as Malthor as it will be lots of repeats. My luck in this game swang in huge roundabouts going from very good to down right poor.

It was a titanic struggle between 2 of the oldest Dark elve teams on fumbbl in a smack final. Dont get much more exciting then that. Handicaps were no help and I cant even remember 1 of them of the top of my head. Freds shruggled on

I got a lucky cas on Valdrek (niggle) with no MB or anything on my first turn blitz of the game. Apoc saved but that lead Blood Falcons with 15 Turns without apoc.

Valdrek always looks playing the Freds and today was no exception. BHing my str4 thrower (av7) and KOing at least 2. As i didnt have a DP my attempts to 'get him' were always going to be limited as Malthor protected him well....4 str4 players on that Falons Side lol....with about 4 MB .... Thats why they are soo good.

Anyway I apologise about the complain on the floor. I had pressed enter before i noticed that it sounded whiney. It was meant as a jokey comment rather then a serious complain so I shut up straight away. (never try and apologise mid game)

Anyway the Falcons got the critical 3rd TD after I misclicked into a 4+ tackle zone with tackle on me. Only had 1 RR left so wanted to save it. Probably would not of made much difference but it made it probably 80% easier to score the TD as i only had 1 extra dude to move

The death of the AG5 Legend was not expected on turn16 as i didnt have block so the probability of me actually injuring were like 2% or something. Nice Legends always die pathetic deaths and this one was no except and the Falcons probably did not deserve it

Hope to play Malthor again even with our different outlooks with our teams. Malthors Falcons are always the ultimate challenge to face as they are simply so skilled and so many of them

On a side note this was Fred Bents (Freds second Legend) last game after niggling on his Legend roll after getting MVP in previous game. Not a bad way to go. After guiding the Freds to 100wins in 158 games
