#2 New World Rookie – Dead (RIP)
Hmm.. What can I say?

I had some luck but so did Malthor (80 % when pressuring my scoring attempts on the first drive) and he sure made it tough for me to score. I managed to get really lucky and scored 1-0.

I made some stupid moves like those two 1-die blocks, and I think both of us got a bit bored second half when I was obviously going to win the match. I'm not that good a coach but managed to get lucky this time.

Someday Malthor will beat me : )

--------------------
Well this game was a combination of dice rape and me giving up.

Start of first half was ok. Opponent scored in a couple of turns with 71 luck after rolling a 1 on a GFI to score but rerolling it.

My luck soon plummetted as I snake-eyed a dodge early on my second turn of offence. My opponent charged through and stole the ball, causing a RIP (apothed). I can set up a 2 dice steal. I roll a double skulls elsewhere on the pitch and then fail the required 2+ GFI to put guard on his Str4 Blodge Ball carrier. Of course :).

I had the ref so I fouled his Iron Man player a couple of times to keep her out of play.

With 2-3 turns left to score, I set up my drive and again rolled an early double skulls somewhere. At this stage I had had enough of the 1s and skulls and so went for a 3+ throw without a RR.

Ball went out of bounds, all over the place and again, no TD.

Second half, Falcons started on offence and opening blocks were pathetic. About 50 pushes. RR used somewhere.

Ball handling, crappo again.

A few more 1s came etc. I was getting some luck on the hitting with a few KO, but with the dice so unfriendly today, and me being unprepared to compromise and play conservatively, it was a recipe for a one sided game. Heck, even my opponent commented on my crappo luck a few times when I didn't say anything.

My opponent made a mistake and did a one dice block instead of a two and netted a skull and then a skull. This was after stalling 1 or 2 turns when already 2-0 up.

I told him he would get a player killed for stalling (just trashtalk) and sure enough, my block netted a RIP on his Blitzer with the Apoth already gone. Ouch.

I then managed to steal the ball and throw it back to a Str4 player. My only possible scorer was one too far away from the endzone.

My opponent knocked the ball loose, but I sidestepped to the end zone and the ball went into the open field where I picked it up. My opponent pressued the ball area but had a bit of bad blocking (he did get a one dice pow this time though when he forgot I was Str4 again heh).

Finally some luck as I managed to get the ball back off him when he fumbled a pass and managed a long pass in the sun (wth accurate) 3+ catch and 2+ dodge to score.
------------------
This was a very one sided match for most of the game. I kept collecing double skulls and double 1s or 1s, but I did have some good blocks. My opponent played well, but made a few mistakes too due to the time pressure.

I gave up early with the crappy dice and the 2-1 scoreline is actually not any indication of how one sided the match was when it came to the critical rolls. I just took some silly risks (eg 3+ pass with no RR). There literally was nothing I could do in the early part of the game. I too made a couple of mistakes.

However, no permanents or FF loss on this side, and a couple of SPP. Not as much as I would like, but after having no apothecary for 12 turns? and being hit repeatedly by Mighty Blow, I am stoked to have my full squad.

Good luck to you Overdose and I hope we meet again with some more even luck.
