#4 Br David – Dead (RIP) #7 Sub-Deacon Dave – Dead (RIP)
“Brutal encounter with the orcs - who seemed interested only in killing or maiming us (or, preferably, both!). Still, this has long been a favourite strategy of the orcs, so it came as no surprise.
They began by killing our Ogre, Ju-Nahhhhh, who "got better", due to the Apoc actually doing his job for a change. And in the last turn of the first half, the mighty bonehead got his revenge, picking the ball up, and scoring with a GFI, all with no RRs remaining....not that they could have helped him in any case.
The second half started with the Monks down to 9 - a state of affairs which soon became even worse as the orcs hunted down and killed Sub-Deacon Dave (our blodge/catch/side step catcher), and then stood laughing as Br David (bad day for the Daves on our team) dodged bravely out of a TZ, tripped, and landed head first on a discarded orcish warspike.... oops.
Facing only 7 humans, the orcs broke away downfield, but were stopped on 3 successive turns due to dodge/GI/1 dice blitzes from the scrambling Monks. However, this took an even heavier toll on the Monks, and Urka finally managed to level the scores in the final round.
A bloody and hard encounter, but fun nonetheless!
