“A pretty solid whomping for the poor vampires, who all match long couldnt seem to do anything right and were stumbling over their own feet the whole time.
It didn't help that some dastardly soul (not pointing any fingers, but locker room attendants report seeing a "big greenish fella" in the Kings' locker room a few hours before the game) had stolen the traditional keg of pre-match blood. This led to the vampires taking to the field with some pretty tough shakes and they lost control a few times. This stealing of the blood is almost becoming a custom, and one has to wonder when the owner will tighten locker room security. On the other hand, the fans love seeing the vampires ripping the thralls to shreds, so maybe no action will be taken.
Late in the second half, team captain Varki Slaad took a blow that would have left any mortal man in need of a coffin. Of course Slaad already lives in a coffin, so he just got back up and watched the rest of the game from the sidelines. This enraged his personal thrall Janus to such a degree that he smashed down one of the orcs and beat on him until the poor thing had to be carried from the field... medics report he may never be the same again.
Spokesman from the team had this to say: "If Janus only showed that dedication all the time on the field, there is no doubt he would become favoured by his masters, and recieve consideration when the time comes to embrace another into the ranks of the team's vampires".”
